Pitch Black Again; Page One-
Ext.: Space
Imagine
yourself floating. There is nothing but darkness and stars. Then the darkness
and the stars begin to zoom-out first slowly, then faster, then much faster, and
it feels like you're traveling at warp speed.
Suddenly you begin to slow down and the darkness and the stars begin to
stop. Out
of the corner of your eye, you see a planet as it comes into view.
Three suns, but no moons surround it.
On either side of the planet are two other planets, one larger than the
other. It
was approximately twenty-one years nine months and five days ago that these two
planets covered the three suns from the center planet, causing in to go
PITCH BLACK.
Int.: Pentagon: Laboratory:
A man stands by the counter examining
several charts. He looks back and
forth from his computer to the charts and from the charts to his computer.
He's wearing a white cloak with the name "Anderson" embroidered
on the left. The pockets are filled
with scientific equipment, which he uses to coordinate points on charts and
calculate equations. Suddenly he holds his breath and widens his eyes.
Anderson: Oh my God!
He rushes out the room, charts in
hand, down the hall. His cloak
flying everywhere, fear in his eyes, and his adrenaline skyrocketing.
He arrives at a big, beautiful, oak door. At the same time he barges in the two soldiers standing on
either side of the door reach for him. They
grab him as he enters the room. A
man, strong and rugged looking, is sitting behind a big oak desk.
He lifts his crew cutted head in astonishment.
The nametag on his Marine jacket read "Cooper" above many
metals and the stars on his shoulders, say he is a general.
Anderson: Sir, we have a big problem!
The general looks at the soldiers and
motions.
Cooper: It's all right.
